Protect your car from thieves

Prevent car thieves from doing their business

To put my point forward, let’s paint a picture here. You wake up in the comfort of your lovely home; have a delicious bed tea before getting washed up for a bright and sunny day ahead. Just as you step out, you find to your shock that your car is missing. You try and figure out how because as per you it was parked in a very safe place. You’re not fooling anyone because finding a safe place to park is as effective as trying not to fart when sitting on a shit pot. This can happen to anyone.

The average number of cars per house has gone up because purchasing a car really is a piece of cake nowadays. In turn, this is good news for car thieves as the choice available for them has gone up as well. We all listen to how automotive companies work on anti-theft technologies and the detailed yet very uninteresting ways they achieve it. What they forget about is the term “Jugaad” in India, which is very prevalent when comes to lifting a car for repairs or lifting it altogether. The gear-locks for example can be picked, just like a normal lock.

The motive of this article is not scare you to a stroke. No. The main motive is to share few tricks that you can install to your beloved car which will help in reducing or eradicate the chances altogether for a potential lift.

Firstly, if you can, park your car in your house’s driveway. If you don’t have a driveway and most of us don’t, park your vehicle in a place which is in close proximity to a flood of homes. Secondly, to ensure better safety for your car, you can get some cleverly hidden killer-switches installed. Cleverly means these killer switches can be installed just about anywhere in your car - under the dashboard, under your seats, in the boot or inside the glove-box, etc.. It totally depends on how much wires you want to run around the car.

Get a simple on/off toggle to the positive circuit of the fuel pump. As it says, it cuts off the power to the engine from the battery itself.
Get a racing-style battery disconnect switch on the positive battery wire. The downside of approaches in connection to the battery is that it will reset the radio settings every time. No power means no memory.
You can get a ignition kill-switch. No marks for guessing, it will disable to ignition or your car in relation the starter motor.
The most effective way and the cheapest option is to pull the fuel pump relay from the car’s main fuse box when you step out. Just put it in your pocket and be assured that it will be 100% effective in serving your safety.

Try it out. I am sure the people will keep on using the old-is-gold gear-lock system even after learning the more effective ways to save your car from thieves. But look at it in this manner, Microsoft Windows is used in over 90% of desktop computers in the world and it is this OS which gets the most number of viruses/bugs/trojans. To ensure that you install such a security system which is never heard of before, it will be much more secure. This of course matters on who all read this article!
