Audi A3 Sedan - Launching in July 2014

Audi A3 Sedan - The Icy cool companion

The no-nonsense styling and with a boot to flaunt, the Audi A3 Sedan will take on the recently launched Mercedes A-Class and the BMW 1-Series hatchbacks. Priced slightly higher than its competition, the A3 has some real potential.

Under the hood, you will get the usual diesel and petrol power-plant options, both with a turbocharger. The latest 1.8 litre TFSI petrol engine from Volkswagen is what the A3 will get, capable of churning out 177bhp. On the diesel front, it will have the same engine from its big brother, the A4 - a 2.0 litre heart pumping out 148bhp.

On the luxury front, Audi will throw in a lot of equipment to keep the passengers in sumptuous comfort. Some of the toys that the A3 will bring in are:

- Dual Zone Climate Control
- A 7-inch infotainment screen
- Cruise Control
- Sunroof
- Lots of buttons for your telephone and music system control

Cabin space is where the Audi might struggle, just like its competitors. Because it is based on the A3 hatchback being sold in Europe and other "ouchy" parts of the world, the rear legroom will be tight.

Expected to be priced around 28lacs ex-showroom (Delhi), it might seem expensive to some. But with the Audi badge, that monstrous power under the hood and superb built quality, it will surely give its rivals a run for market share.
