New VW Passat Announced for the European Market.
The eighteenth edition of the VW Passat was unwrapped recently and boy it looks good. Designed with only one mission in mind - wipe off that smile of the German counterparts, specifically the "Oh-look-at-me-I'm-so-pretty" Mercedes C-Class and the Smug-Faced BMW 3-Series. Yes, it will also compete with the Audi A4 but then competing with the Audi is like getting a pedicure done on one foot and blow-torching the other on purpose.
Anyways, the specs that have been announced are for the European market and most of the Goodies might not make it to India. You can call it racist behaviour but that's not the reason behind it. VW wants to keep the price in check when covering emerging markets like that of India.
I have always had a huge respect for the VW Passat. Compared to the German rivals, it offers loads of refined comfort, tech and power. I just hope that this one pulls the trick swiftly.
